Admissions

The Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust is the admission authority for all the schools within the Trust and is responsible for determining the admissions policy. On behalf of the Trust, the admissions are coordinated by the relevant Local Authority. All decisions relating to admission applications will be taken by the school’s Local Governing Body.

Applying for a school place

All applications are coordinated through the Nottingham City Council.

If you are making an application for St Teresa’s Catholic Primary school, please ensure you follow BOTH steps below, this will avoid any delays in your application being processed.

STEP 1:

Complete the Common Application Form on the Nottingham City website. 

STEP 2:

If you are applying on grounds of faith, you MUST complete the Supplementary Form this is also available from the school office. Please return the completed form directly to the school office along with a copy of your child’s Baptism certificate. Without this information, we cannot class your child as a baptised Catholic.

Waiting lists

Parents whose children have not been offered a place at a school in the normal admissions round will be added to the school’s waiting list unless they have been offered a place at a higher-preference school. The list will remain open until the end of the academic application year.  If a parent wishes their child to remain on the waiting list, they must re-apply each academic year.  The local authority manages the waiting list for St Teresa’s Catholic Primary Voluntary Academy.

In-year applications

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.  An application should be made to St Teresa’s by completing the Nottingham City Common Application Form and following the instructions on the Local Authority website. 

If you are applying for a place on faith grounds, you will also need to complete a supplementary form:

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 2023/24 will be applied. Please see admissions arrangements here Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.

If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list.  Please see the admission arrangements for more details.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible.  Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt. 

You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.
