Plans for September - Returning to School10 July 2020 (by admin) |
10th July 2020
Important information about the first week in September.
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope that you and your families are well. I am delighted to be able to write to you with some initial information about opening our schools to all children and young people in September. The past few months since the lockdown began on 23rd March have been challenging for us all. Our schools have not been the same without our pupils and we still miss all those who have not yet returned to schools.
Our schools are currently working hard to update their risk assessments and health and safety processes so that pupils, parents/carers and staff can be confident that the necessary measures are in place to ensure everyone’s safety during the return in September. We will be in contact again shortly to provide more details about how school will look and work in September.
I would like to give you advance notice of the arrangements for the first week back in September. St Teresa’s will remain closed to pupils for an extra Health and Safety day on Tuesday 1st September so that we can ensure that all the Health and Safety requirements are in place and respond to any last minute changes to Government guidance. There will also be an INSET closure on Wednesday 2nd September, so that staff can prepare for the return of their new classes. To ensure a smooth start to the year and offer important transition activities for certain year groups, Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 will return as below:

Summer holiday quarantining
Please could you inform the school if you are travelling to a country for which the UK government requires a period of quarantine upon return to the UK and your return date falls after Tuesday 18th August, as your child / children would have to quarantine at the start of the new school year, for their benefit and that of other pupils ad staff in school. For guidance around quarantining please visit: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-travel-corridors
Yours sincerely
